About Tom Leslie

About the Author

Tom received his master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Oxford. After a stint at the university’s science magazine, he found the call of the keyboard was greater than that of the pipette and graduated into the world of science journalism. He still loves any story to do with cells, viruses, proteins, and nucleic acids, and has also become interested in the muckier side of science, where seemingly Earth-shaking results fail to stand up to closer inspection. When not at work, he keeps a tenuous hold on an increasingly sprawling list of poorly maintained hobbies, including rock climbing, playing tabletop RPGs, and bashing out a tune or two on the guitar.
